SINGLE BIO: Bleeding Knees Club – Nothing To Do [I Oh You] + announcing parties with The Drums

The Gold Coast’s garage-pop bombshells Bleeding Knees Club are psyched to present new single “Nothing To Do”, the title track off their forthcoming debut album which drops in Australia on 2nd March via IOHYOU.  The track will make its Australian premiere tonight on Triple J at approximately 6:30pm

Clocking in at under two minutes, it’s a disarmingly simple ode to boredom and once again demonstrates the pair’s knack in crafting the catchiest ramshackle nuggets of spat-out punk around.

It’s also the final primer before the world gets to hear Bleeding Knees Club’s debut full-lengther “Nothing To Do”. Recorded in New York City in-between the pair’s hectic touring schedule last year, the album was produced by Dev Hynes (from Blood Orange and Lightspeed Champion), and then mixed in London by Dan Grech (The Vaccines). Lead-off single “Teenage Girls” has been a staple on triple j and public radio since it landed a few months ago, and had NME frothing “This sounds like every glue-sniffin’, floor wax-slippin’ memory you’ve ever had.”

“Nothing To Do” is an album that neatly encapsulates everything that’s made the world fall in love with Bleeding Knees Club these past 18 months : a raw ‘n’ urgent set of super-fun songs about girls, getting high, and sticking it to The Man.

In the lead-up to the release of their album, Bleeding Knees Club are doing three very special East Coast shows before they jet back off overseas. Teaming up with Laneway Festival tourists The Drums, who’ll be downing instruments to do some rare DJ sets instead, Bleeding Knees Club will play guerrilla gigs in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney. Each show’s venue will only be announced online 24 hours beforehand and will be approximately 200-capacity each, making these not-to-be-missed events.

Immediately afterwards Bleeding Knees Club will race back to the UK for some album release shows around the country, before hightailing it to the USA for further club dates as well as appearances at tastemaker music festival South By Southwest in Austin, Texas.

Recently named by NME as one of the 100 New Bands To Watch in 2012, Bleeding Knees Club are getting ready to own worldwide this year. Join the Club, there’s nothing else to do.
